Creative Corbels

The design creativity of Kuche+Cucina's Amir Ilin and Bernard Kim shines again in this lovely New Jersey home, located in a historic preservation area. The team of South Orange, N.J., expertly attained their goal of maintaining the original feeling while also incorporating moods of creativity and comfort.

The clients wanted the room to feature large pilaster legs, but they did not want them to take too much of the kitchen's space. As a result, Ilin and Kim suggested and created a pull-out spice rack to provide functionality within the superb design detail.

The kitchen features six pull-out pilasters, meeting the desires of the clients and earning absolute eye appeal. They also put their design finesse to work by creating custom corbels. A custom-built hood canopy gives an elegant focal point, while custom-shaped corbels carry out the theme of the room. The mantel coordinates with the room, tying together design in perfect harmony. The perfect place to display the homeowner's collection of dishware, it adds unique personality to the space. The kitchen is filled with an airy ambiance and the strategically placed lighting mixes with the natural sunlight, which pours in through the window. The finished design exudes elegance, while providing complete usability.
